SNAM opens first LCNG FILLINGstation in Pesaro, Italy

SNAM4Mobility has opened the first facility for the supply of LCNG (compressed and liquefied natural gas) in Pesaro, on the Adriatic coast. The mayor Matteo Ricci participated of the opening. The facility is managed by Acema and marks Snam4Mobility’s first plant to supply liquefied gas. With this plant, Pesaro will be able to test a new model of sustainable mobility based on natural gas, both for light vehicles (CNG) and for heavy vehicles (LNG).

The managing director of Acema, Lorenzo Ponselè, the senior vice president of Snam4Mobility Andrea Ricci, the head of Sales for Great Customers and LNG of Liquigas Massimiliano Naso and the Business Line Medium & Heavy Manager of IVECO, Alessandro Oitana, also attended the opening. Models of CNG and LNG vehicles were exhibited at the event, including the IVECO Stralis NP 460, which was awarded “Sustainable Truck of the Year 2019” at Ecomondo 2018 and is capable of a range of 1,600 km or more.

The new plant is able to supply LNG and CNG will also be able to bring gas to the existing service station located on a nearby motorway, which has been appropriately upgraded with shelter and distribution islands to supply compressed methane. Both plants will supply a particularly high performing CNG, which ensures greater autonomy and a quicker supply. Liquigas, a leader in Italy in the distribution of LNG for industrial and automotive use, will guarantee the supply of the product to Acema.

Acema has been managing fuel distribution and integrated services for service stations for over 70 years, while Snam4Mobility is Italy’s leading operator for g-mobility, sustainable mobility with natural gas and renewable gas (biomethane). The company currently has about 50 refueling plants under construction.
