100 CNG buses from Hyundai for Tijuana, Mexico

The transport and logistics company Traxión has decided to shift to a more environmentally friendly fuel and announced an investment of USD 18 million for the acquisition of 100 Hyundai Super Aero City CNG buses. The units will be used for daily transport of around 9.200 workers between Tijuana and Rosarito in the state of Baja California.

The purchase of these buses will allow Traxión group to strengthen its presence in the Pacific Zone. Traxión's total fleet adds to 5000 units. The buses are heavy duty expected to provide more than 10 years of use; the deal includes a service contract for 7 years. The Director of the Passenger Transport Division in Traxión, Elías Dana, received from the hands of Gino Saer, CEO of Hyundai Mexico, a symbolic key that represented the delivery of the units, equipped with anti-collision systems, advanced geolocation and artificial intelligence.

"For Traxión it has always been very important to be a technology leader in every way, so we keep in constant search for technologies that are environment friendly"

"We are making one of the most important investments of the year to provide passenger transport service to Hyundai plants located in Tijuana and Rosarito through the use of natural gas buses," he concluded.

The units have a 290 hp Intercooler Turbo engine and are expected to provide a reduction of 99% of particulate matter and NOx.
