15 new CNG buses for the eastern suburbs of Rome

The mayor of Roma Capitale, Virginia Raggi, together with the councilor for Mobility, Pietro Calabrese, and the president of Atac, Paolo Simioni presented recently the 15 new methane buses for the Tor Pignattara district and the eastern quadrant of the city.The buses that arrived at the Tor Sapienza depot.are part of a total of 91 natural gas vehicles purchased on the Consip platform.

"With these new units we are enhancing the service in neighborhoods such as Tuscolano, Pigneto, Tor Pignattara, Prenestino and Centocelle, connecting them to different metro C stations and the regional rail network," stressed mayor Raggi and also stated that others gas powered buses will come next year. We are moving forward to renew the fleet and rejuvenate it for the benefit of all users of public transport ". "The new methane buses will be used to upgrade important lines such as the 412, to the benefit of all citizens in the area.

Our priority is to have a modern and user-friendly public transport. This is why we are allocating, after a gap of years of investment, important resources that allow us to rejuvenate a fleet of vehicles with an average age of over 12 years for a real and lasting revival of the public transport service ", added the councilor for Mobility, Pietro Calabrese .
