TRANSPORT DEPAEUW adopts MOLGAS Blu-Box ‘turnkey’ LNG solution.

Depaeuw Transport is committed to reducing its impact on the environment through concrete measures. The Hauts-de-France SME is now the first French road carrier to equip itself with Molgas Energia's Blu-Box liquefied natural gas station, a "Full-service" turnkey solution that allows carriers to access fuel gas competitively.

The energy and environmental transition is a reality for Transport Depaeuw. Established in 1964 in the Hauts-de-France region, the family-owned SME is one of the first road transport companies to be signatories to the CO2 objective charter in 2009 and received the Objective CO2 label in 2017 recognising its environmental performance.

"Our voluntary commitments to the environment are part of a comprehensive CSR strategy and our Quality, Hygiene, Safety and Environment (QHSE) approach is MASE certified," explains its president Julien Depaeuw.

A member of the FLO group, Transport Depaeuw operates a fleet of 600 units, most of which are Renault Trucks and Iveco.

"The choice of fuels and the organization of refuelling are optimized economically, environmentally and socially according to our main activities: long-distance and regional transport, distribution and urban logistics."

Three energies are used: diesel with latest-generation Euro VI engines, Oil100 rapeseed biofuel and natural gas in compressed (CNG) and liquefied (LNG) form.

"Vehicles are refueled at our sites in Lompret near Lille, Dunkirk and Salome near Lens. This organization eliminates unnecessary kilometres and waiting times at public gas stations."

Julien Depaeuw has decided to apply the same economic and environmental approach for his LNG fleet, consisting of about fifteen tractors and planned to double in the short term.

"LNG vehicles are used on our daily loops and lines, including those operated for the FLO Palettes service between Lompret and Orleans. They are also involved in our clean and silent urban and peri-urban distribution schemes made with City and Urban trailers. These activities require a very high availability, reliability and responsiveness of the LNG fleet. At the end of October, we equipped ourselves with the Molgas Energia Blu-Box service station at our headquarters in Lompret."

According to the entrepreneur, the choice in favour of Molgas Energia was motivated by "the simplicity of the turnkey and all-inclusive Blu-Box offer, and by the professionalism of its teams." As The European leader in LNG distribution, Molgas Energia offers road hauliers quick access to fuel gas from "full-service" rental formulas presented by its general manager France Edouard de Montmarin:

"Thought by and for road hauliers with Molgas, the Blu-Box solution is marketed as a monthly rent that now allows access to a fuel gas price that is almost 40% lower than diesel. The rent includes the installation of the private station in accordance with the current ICPE rules, its maintenance and the supply of gas."

Without a building permit, the development of the station requires only a simple concrete slab or is part of the existing fuel facility. "The station's remote supplies and control are automated by integrated telemetry and remote monitoring systems with guaranteed intervention within 4 hours around all of France if malfunction is observed." Blu-Box can also provide CNG from LNG.
